Brownie Bites 3.14.24

Welcome to the Women's History Month edition of Brownie Bites. In this edition we talk about fibroid treatments (there are many), and how midlife symptoms cost $1.8 billion in lost working time.

$1.8 Billion

That's the cost in lost working time from working women suffering from menopause symptoms (in the U.S. alone!). Either you or someone you work with, live with, or employ is one of millions balancing work and this stage of life.

Menopause happens to ALL women with a uterus who live long enough.

Symptoms can start in the mid-thirties.

It's time to start paying attention to the toll it takes on all of us.

No Reason to Suffer in Silence

By the age of 50, up to 80% of black women and up to 70% of white women have fibroids.

Many of us are told to “wait out” symptoms, but there are treatments to help you feel better.

Here's my comprehensive list of Western healthcare treatments (don't worry I'll follow up with an Eastern medicine one soon).

Apricity, noun:

The warmth of the sun in winter

From the Latin aprīcitās,

(“warmed by the sun”).

Thanks for reading. I will see you again in 2 weeks when it will be Spring!!
